Hens and Chickens Reef

At only a mile offshore of Plantation Key, Hens and Chickens Reef is more accessible than most of the other reefs in the Florida Keys. A 35 foot tower marks this extremely shallow dive site (only 5 feet). Cracks, crevices and small ledges abound amidst a healthy fish population. The deepest portion of this reef reaches about 35 feet.

An ideal location for a second dive or a group of snorkelers, Hens and Chickens features a robust ecosystem where lobsters, reef crabs and other invertebrates thrive. A curious and friendly green moray eel is often seen here as well.
